MEDOS DELTASTREAM^® DP3 Blood Pump successful in use

09.03.2010, Stolberg. MEDOS collects in 15 university medical centres throughout Europe the first clinical experiences with the new blood pump from the DELTASTREAM® family. The DP3 has been successfully used in clinical practice in more than 35 ECMO, ECLS and rVAD therapies since October, 2009.

The low filling volume and the exact control allows the treatment with adults, paediatrics and infants. This outstanding feature as well as the optionally pulsatile mode inspire our first users.

MEDOS tubing sets now DEHP-free!

22.02.2010, Stolberg. Due to increasing opposition to the use of DEHP as softener of PVC products in applications involving contact with blood, we consider it our responsibility as manufacturer to reduce the number of components containing DEHP in our tubing sets. Our objective is to offer tubing sets that are free of DEHP.

We have already begun to replace all DEHP-containing PVC tubes with noDop-PVC tubes. The replacement is being gradually phased in to ensure that the largest surface of the extracorporeal circuit which previously contained DEHP is now more haemocompatible.
